This single malt scotch has a history that dates back to 1898 when John Duff built and founded the distillery. Benriach distills three styles of scotch whiskey; classic unpeated Speyside, Highland peated, and triple distilled. Each is barrel is various selections of barrels from around the world. The result is one of the richest, full flavored, multi-layered whiskies in Speyside. The Original Ten
Smooth multi-layered triple cask matured scotch that is a least ten years old. Reused bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and virgin oak cask create layers of fruit, honey malt, and tasted oak all leading to a subtle trace of smoke. On the palate pear, citrus, malt sweetness, and a almon vanilla finish. The perfect introduction to Speyside. 92 ABV
The Smoky Ten
In 1970’s Benriach returned to their 19th century roots to make the Smokey Ten Scotch. Using Highland peat for the malted barley it imparts a distinctly sweet and smokey notes. The blend is both non-peated and peated barrels from three casks. The combination of the bourbon barrels, Jamaican rum casks, and toasted virgin oak expertly blended together create smooth layers of sunripe fruit, aromatic smoke, and toasted spice. On the palate a mixture of smoked applewood, honey maple, spiced pear with a lingering fruit smoked oak finish. 92 ABV
The Twelve
Three cask matured at least twelve years in sherry casks, bourbon barrels, and port casks. The expert marriage of the whiskey from each cask creates a smooth, sherry-rich single malt, layered with baked fruit, maple honey, and cocoa. On the palate a mixture of maraschino cherry, baked orange and hazelnut with a sultana and spiced mocha finish. 92 ABV
The Smoky Twelve
Three cask matured as least twelve years in bourbon barrels, sherry casks, and Marsala casks. The expert marriage of the whiskey from each cask creates a smooth creamy single malt with multilayered flavors of ripened fruit, smokey sweetness and oak spice. On the palate a mixture of dark chocolate, fruit peel, brown sugar oak with a lingering cocoa and orange smoked finish. 92 ABV
The Mansion 14 Year Single Cask
The single barrel selection was rested for 14 years in a Pedro Ximenes Spanish sherry cask. The cask was hand selected by Jim in the cellars from a group of amazing barrels. On the nose the whiskey is absolutely beautiful as the sherry malt gives off soft fruit of apple and pear. The sherry cask adds a rich spice to round out the aromas. On the palate a mixture of fruit, caramelized orange, sherry flavor and clove like spice. The viscosity gives a rich mouth feel with a well balanced finish. The whiskey is bottled at cask strength of 119 proof. Truly a one of a kind scotch whiskey.
